Load cell pedals

Every pedal set in the database, across all brands. A load cell brake measures how hard you press rather than how far the pedal travels, which is what makes braking repeatable and is the upgrade most people notice first.

Common questions

Is a load cell brake worth the upgrade?

It is the change most people notice first. A potentiometer brake measures how far the pedal has travelled. A load cell measures how hard you are pressing, which is what a real brake responds to, and it is what makes braking repeatable lap after lap.

Load ratings are quoted in kilograms of force at the pedal face. Higher is not automatically better: the rating sets the range you work across, and it needs to match how firmly you can brace against the rig.

Do I need to bolt pedals to a rig?

Pedals are the input you push hardest against, so the mount matters as much as the pedal set itself. A set bolted to a rigid frame gives a consistent reference point. The same set on a sliding baseplate does not.

Check the mounting pattern before buying. Pedal plates and rig rails are not universal across brands.

Will this work on my console?

Check the platform column, and treat a blank as unknown rather than as a no. We list only what the manufacturer states on its own product page.

The expensive trap is that console compatibility is often conditional. A base sold as console compatible may only be recognised when a specific licensed wheel rim is attached, and the base alone will not work. Confirm the exact combination with the manufacturer before ordering.

Why do some products show no price?

Because the manufacturer does not publish one in a form we can attribute. Several render prices through scripts, show a different currency depending on where you are, or sell only through retailers.

We show Not published rather than a guess, and rather than a converted figure no source states. Prices also move constantly, so confirm on the manufacturer's page before buying. Every link here goes there.

How is this list ordered?

By published price, low to high. There is no editor's pick and no star rating, because we have not tested this hardware. The table is the review.

Every figure carries the manufacturer URL it came from and the date it was checked, so you can verify any row rather than take our word for it.

How to choose

Load cell versus potentiometer

A potentiometer brake measures how far the pedal has travelled. A load cell brake measures how hard you are pressing. Real brakes respond to pressure, so a load cell is the single change that makes braking repeatable, and it is the upgrade most people notice first.

Load ratings are quoted in kilograms of force at the pedal face. A higher rating is not automatically better. It sets the range you are working across, and it needs to match how firmly you brace against the rig.

Hydraulic and active pedals

Hydraulic pedals use a master cylinder and fluid to produce resistance that builds the way a real brake does. Active pedals drive the pedal with a motor, so travel and force curves become software settings rather than physical parts.

Both sit well above load-cell sets on price. They are the last upgrade in this category, not the first.
