What the numbers mean
Entry (up to 6 Nm): Gear and belt drives, plus the smallest direct drives.
Mid (up to 12 Nm): Most published figures in the database fall in this band.
High (up to 21 Nm): Detail beyond what most rigs can be bolted down for.
Professional (above 21 Nm): Makers in this band publish rig-mount patterns. None publishes a desk clamp.
One caution on peak torque
Peak torque is the most the motor can produce. You set the level you drive at below it. Most drivers run well below the maximum, because sustained high force is tiring and because a rig that flexes wastes the extra output. A 12 Nm base bolted to a rigid frame delivers more usable detail than a 21 Nm base clamped to a desk that moves.
Bases without a published figure show as not published. We do not estimate torque from a motor spec or repeat a number from another site.
